Released: 23 April 2001 Liquid Sound Design (Dragonfly's downbeat sister label), proudly presents the release of chill out master Dr. Alex Paterson's very own "Journey Into Paradise". Plundering close friend and former 'Little Fluffy Cloud" collaborator Youth 's (LSD label head) musical war chest, Dr. Paterson has crafted an exquisite dubbed out journey that showcases some of the best of LSD's back catalogue. Alex Paterson virtually invented the electronic genre known as ambient-house / downtempo, with The Orb, resurrecting slower, more soulful rhythms and providing a soundtrack for the post club chill out experience. Having originally met Youth as roadie for Killing Joke in the 80's, Alex formed the Orb in the late 80's and after a few ambient experiments with Jimi Cauty (KLF) recorded the definitive classic 'Little Fluffy Clouds' with Youth. Due to other commitments Youth was unable to become a permanent member, but a strong friendship was born and consequently it was only a matter of time before Alex worked his magic on some of LSD's classics tracks.From the pulsating dub of Nomad's of Dub's opening "Spirals", the blissed out "Buffalo" (taken from Youth's acclaimed Dub Trees albums) Son's of Arqa's unmistakeable version of Fleetwood Mac's "Albatross", Thrash / Greg Hunter's mutated Killing Joke remix and Dr. Paterson's very own exclusive track under the guise of 'The Rob' (work that one out!), 'Journey Into Paradise' is the perfect accompaniment to a post club chill out or a lazy spring day.
